Smoked Sheep Dung Chilli. .!

We have been bringing you some powerful and flavourful Icelandic heat since 2017 and here we have TAÐ “Eldtungur“, or “Flaming Tongues“ if the name was translated to english, which is without doubt one of our the most mind-blasting & tasty hot sauce.

TAÐ is a hot sauce which screams “THE ICELANDIC PEOPLE & FOOD TRADITIONS ARE BEYOND WILD“ but here we went back to our traditional Icelandic farm-living roots and in this hot sauce we used chilli that we smoked with real sheep dung.

Few fun facts about us

- All our “Eldtungur“ hot sauces are made right here at Ölverk in Hveragerði in the south region of Iceland.

- All of our fresh chilli comes from a steamy greenhouse in the nearby area that uses geothermal steam for keep up the temperature all year round.

- With Ölverk being located in the town of Hveragerði we have always searched for ways to make use the powerful geothermal energy the surrounds our town: in both our process of producing “Eldtungur“ hot sauce and of course also in our on-site micro brewery.

- The name “Eldtungur“ means in english “Flaming Tongues“ but while devouring "Eldtungur" hot sauce / “Flaming Tongue“ your tongue goes into overdrive, your core temperature rises, your seasonal flu symptoms clear up, your mood lifts and in the end you might live longer.
